Who can participate in TU-BCPS Model UN?
TU-BCPS Model UN is open to all Baltimore County public high school students. Non-BCPS students (including home school students) are also welcome to participate, space permitting. Student delegates must attend Model UN as part of a team led by a teacher (Advisor).

How do I register for Model UN?
To register, follow this two-step process:
First, the Advisor registers the team before early October.
Second, TU staff sends Advisors a registration link to share with potential student delegates. Student delegates must register themselves with the link.

What is a delegate?
A delegate is a high school student who participates in Model UN and represents a country in writing position papers, presenting preliminary statements, participating in committees, and debating/voting on resolutions in the General Assembly sessions.

How do I get my country and committee assignment?
From your teacher. Before Training Day, a Model UN team member will email your school's list of countries and committees to your teacher who will assign one to you.
Two delegates represent one country.
Each country's delegate serves on a separate committee.
-
Is Training Day required?
Yes. School teams are required to participate in Training Day to be eligible for the March conference.

What should I bring to Model UN?
For the November Training Day, bring a notebook, pen, water bottle, and your attention and focus.
For the March conference, bring a notebook, pen, water bottle, and multiple printed copies of your position paper. Student delegates can share their position paper via the Official Communications system to gain signatures and support. Also bring ideas to discuss in your assigned committee meeting.

What should I wear to Model UN?
Business casual is recommended, and some delegates choose to dress in traditional clothing of their country.
