Messaging System
The Messaging System is a hallmark of the TU-BCPS Model UN conference! It provides a structured platform for student delegates to communicate and interact with one another during General Assembly sessions. By utilizing the Official Communication slips, delegates can discreetly propose alliances, discuss potential resolutions, and negotiate to secure votes. This system encourages collaboration, compromise, and the development of essential diplomatic skills. As you navigate the complexities of Model UN, mastering the Messaging System will be instrumental in achieving your goals and making a lasting impact on the conference.
Delegates write on Official Communication slips to send messages to other delegations, to request that the Secretariat place them on the Speakers’ List, and to call for a Point of Order or Information. To send a message, delegates complete the communication slip (including the message content, their country name, and the intended recipient) and raise it in the air. A TU volunteer collects the message and delivers it to its intended recipient. Messages must be professional and formal nature, written clearly and legibly, and be related to conference business (not personal).
